TIRED OF ‘FAKE NEWS’

Leni Robredo denies having boyfriends, planning Jesse’s death

Apparently tired of the what she called fake news persistently hounding her, Vice President Leni Robredo has denied social media posts indicating that a Liberal Party congressman and several other men were her boyfriends.

In an interview posted on her Facebook page, Robredo said two of the individuals being linked to her romantically were actually more feminine than she was.

"Mula nung namatay ang asawa ko, hindi ako nagka-boyfriend, wala akong boyfriend, at wala akong kabalak -balak mag-boyfriend," she said.

She directly denied having an affair with party-mate Quezon City Representative Jorge “Bolet” Banal, saying he was frequently seen with her because he was a "political close-in" and a close friend of her late husband.

"Every time na may nagagalit sa 'kin bubuhayin 'yon," she said.

Robredo also denied masterminding the death of her husband, the late former Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo, who died in a plane crash in 2012.

Robredo said.

"Walang logic," Robredo said.

Robredo said it was a mistake for her not to respond to the fake news about her.

"Ako na-realize ko yung mistake ko. I have been at the receiving end of fake news. Yung desisyon ko nung una was, 'do not dignify'.

—Margaret Claire Layug/NB, GMA News
