Sotto welcomes cyber-libel indictment against Cocoy Dayao

Senator Vicente "Tito" Sotto III on Sunday welcomed the indictment of blogger Eduardo "Cocoy" Dayao for cyber-libel.

"The case has been filed and now the court has spoken. Mr. Dayao should be made accountable. Running away won't solve the problem," Sotto said in a statement released over the weekend.

On July 13, the Pasay Prosecutor's Office decided to indict Dayao with libel following the case Sotto filed November of last year.

In his complaint against Dayao, a blogger associated with the Aquino administration and the alleged author behind the "Silent No More PH" online posts, Sotto claimed that the blogger had called him names.

A post published on the blog was reported to have described Sotto and six other senators as Malacañang lapdogs for not signing a resolution condemning the killings of minors. — Jon Viktor Cabuenas/DVM, GMA News
