Duterte fires PMA comptroller over ‘misuse’ of P15M in cadets’ allowances

President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday fired the comptroller of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) for the alleged misuse of P15 million worth of cadets' allowances.

Duterte signed the dismissal order against PMA comptroller Hector Marana during the launching of the Go Negosyo’s "Pilipinas Angat Lahat" program in Malacañang.

The President said Marana committed fraud against government, conduct unbecoming of an officer and a gentleman, and conduct prejudicial to good order and discipline.

"Send the guy to hell. That's an order," he said.

Marana had been on floating status prior to Duterte's decision.

Marana is the latest member of the military ordered dismissed by Duterte for corruption.

The President had ordered the dismissal of around 20 military officials and personnel over supposed anomalous transactions at the V. Luna Medical Center. He also directed court martial proceedings against them.

"Create a court where he will appear before his peers and give him the most humiliating. I fired them all," Duterte said. —NB, GMA News
