Lorenzana: There is no arrest or surveillance order on Trillanes

Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said Friday there is no arrest or "tracking " order on Senator Antonio Trillanes IV.

Lorenzana made the remark in response to Trillanes' claim on Thursday that plainclothesmen had been tailing his car; and again, the Defense chief said there is no arrest order on the senator.

"No order to arrest him nor to follow him," Lorenzana said in a text message to GMA News Online when sought for clarification on Trillanes' claim.

Trillanes revealed on Thursday that plainclothesmen on a motorcycle followed his vehicle when it went out of the Senate premises to get something and to refuel.

After being holed up at the Senate for over a week, Trillanes was supposed to try to go home but changed his mind because of the incident.

On the other hand, Lorenzana said there is no reason for Trillanes to be afraid to go home because the military will not arrest him.

"Yes, nobody will arrest him," Lorenzana said, adding, "I’ll find out who are tailing him."

Lorenzana earlier said that Trillanes will not be arrested by the military without a warrant.

Earlier, Armed Forces Chief of Staff General Carlito Galvez Jr. also said that the military will suspend court martial proceedings against the senator until the Supreme Court has resolved the matter on the revocation of by President Rodrigo Duterte of the amnesty granted to Trillanes. —LBG, GMA News
