Robredo to fly to US, Canada for leadership forum, Angat Buhay meetings


Vice President Leni Robredo will leave for the United States and Canada on Friday, October 12, for a leadership forum and discussion facilitated by a policy think tank and to attend to matters concerning her office’s flagship anti-poverty program, Angat Buhay.

Robredo will be delivering a keynote address at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) on October 18, Thursday, for the CSIS-Pertamina-Banyan Tree Leadership Forum and the US-Philippines Strategic Initiative in Washington D.C.

According to CSIS website, the Vice President will discuss the importance of upholding accountability and the rule of law in the quest for democracy and community development in the 21st century and how various modes of engagements between the public and private sector foster good governance, encourage citizen participation, and contribute to effective nation building.

Robredo’s office described the said organizations as “premier platforms for discussing issues that have significant impact on Southeast Asia and the Indo-Pacific.”

In addition, Vice President Robredo is also set to meet potential partners for Angat Buhay in the US and Canada. — BM, GMA News
