Bong says he expected Sandigan ruling: I know I'm not guilty

Former Senator Ramon Bong Revilla Jr. on Friday said he was not surprised by the Sandiganbayan ruling finding him not guilty of plunder in connection with the pork barrel scam.

"Of course because I know that I'm not guilty. Noon ko pa sinasabi na wala akong kasalanan," Revilla said when asked if he expected the ruling, as shown in Maki Pulido's video.

The video also shows Revilla being hugged by his children and supporters. He was also seen wiping away tears.

Revilla said he intends to spend the next few days with his family.

Prior to the ruling, Revilla spent four years in detention at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame.

His wife, Bacoor, Cavite Mayor Lani Mercado, earlier said it has been the longest four years in their lives. —KBK, GMA News
