VP Robredo leads wreath-laying ceremony at Rizal Monument on Rizal Day

Vice President Leni Robredo on Sunday led the wreath-laying ceremony at the Rizal Monument at the Rizal Park (Luneta) in Manila, according to GMA News' Victoria Tulad.

The ceremony was held to mark the 122nd anniversary of the death of National Hero Jose Rizal.

President Rodrigo Duterte, meanwhile, will lead the rite honoring Rizal at Rizal Park in Davao City on Sunday afternoon.

The national hero, a doctor and novelist, was executed for the crime of rebellion against the Spanish colonial government on December 30, 1896. —KG, GMA News
