More security measures adopted at NAIA to comply with TSA standards

The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) has enforced new security measures at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, after it failed to meet the standards of the US Transport Security Administration.

According to a report by Jun Veneracion in 24 Oras on Friday, the MIAA is addressing the issues as regards the airport's security.

Among the new measures are the dual view x-ray machines, which would enable airport security to see the top and bottom of the luggage during x-ray inspections.

Recently, a CCTV camera was also installed at the conveyor area.

People by the baggage carousel are now able to see what is happening to their luggage after it leaves the plane.

The TSA earlier found that NAIA did not enforce effective security standards.
