EU condoles with families of Sulu blast victims

The European Union Delegation to the Philippines on Sunday condoled with the families of the victims killed by the deadly twin blasts that hit Jolo, Sulu earlier in the day.

In a statement, the EU Delegation conveyed its condolences and sympathies to the families of those who were killed and injured in Jolo in Sulu.

"I express my solidarity with the Filipino people during these trying times", said Ambassador Franz Jessen in the statement.

Twin blasts hit the Mount Carmel Cathedral in Jolo in Sulu on Sunday, killing at least 19 individuals.

The explosions happened after the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) was ratified, with overwhelming votes coming from the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

"Filipinos have always been resilient,  steadfast,  and collaborative and I am certain that these values will see them through in this sad situation," the EU Delegation statement read. — Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/BM, GMA News
