Authorities reviewing CCTV footage for possible Sulu bombings suspects — Andanar

Authorities are going through CCTV footage that may help identify the perpetrators of the deadly twin bombings at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cathedral in Jolo, Sulu on Sunday, Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar said.

"Mayroong tinitingnang CCTV na footage ang ating awtoridad at mayroon na rin silang mga na-identify na mga suspek na pumasok doon sa simbahan at diumano ay nagkunwaring mga magsisimba," Andanar said in an interview on Super Radyo dzBB on Sunday.

Andanar did not disclose the number of the possible suspects allegedly caught on CCTV.

"Of course we will let the DILG [Department of the Interior and Local Government] or the AFP [Armed Forces of the Philippines] to announce after they clarify kung sino itong mga suspect na ito," he added.

Andanar also said that the administration will not let the suspects get away with the gruesome attack, which he hoped was not linked to the Bangsamoro Organic Law recently deemed ratified by the Commission on Elections.

"Alam kong walang kawala ito, of course through the leadership of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte as a Commander-in-Chief of the AFP, hindi siya papayag na hindi mapapanagot iyong mga may sala," he said.

The two explosions that occurred at the cathedral has claimed at least 19 lives, including civilians and government troops. Dozens of others were also injured.

Andanar said that "the entire government will support the families of the victims." — Dona Magsino/BM, GMA News
