Mon Tulfo flashes the finger at labor group’s call for him to resign

President Rodrigo Duterte's special envoy to China Ramon Tulfo has forcefully—even graphically—rejected calls for him to resign after saying Filipino construction workers were lazy and slow compared to Chinese laborers.

Tulfo in an interview flashed the dirty finger at the notion of resigning his post because of his remarks on why Filipinos were losing construction jobs at home to Chinese workers.

"Ito," Tulfo said as he raised his middle finger after being told of the calls for him to quit.

"Bakit ako magbibitiw? Wala naman akong ginawang masama," he added.

Tulfo clarified that the Filipino workers he was referring to when he first made his remarks were those based in the Philippines.

Alan Tanjusay of the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines called on Tulfo to quit his post.

He said Tulfo's remarks put a stain on the image of Filipino workers abroad.

—NB, GMA News
