VP Robredo sends condolences to kin of quake victims in Luzon

Vice President Leni Robredo on Tuesday conveyed her condolences to the families of those who died as a result of a 6.1-magnitude earthquake that hit Luzon on Monday afternoon.

“Lubos akong nakikiramay sa lahat ng napinsala sa lindol kahapon. Ang trahedyang ito ay paalala sa bawat isa sa atin na ang panganib ay maaring bigla ang pagdating, at dapat tayo’y laging handa,” Robredo said in a statement.

The Vice President then called for continued vigilance.

“Patuloy tayong mag-ingat at maging mapagmasid,” Robredo added.

The 6.1-magnitude earthquake with an epicenter in Zambales has left at least seven dead, 81 hurt and 24 missing as of Tuesday morning.

The quake also damaged the Clark International Airport in Pampanga, resulting in the airport's closure since Monday night.

Monday's earthquake also suspended railway operations in Metro Manila on Monday, but operations have since resumed as of Tuesday morning. —KG, GMA News
