PHL, China ink MOU on anti-corruption cooperation

Anti-corruption agencies of the Philippines and China have signed a memorandum of understanding to formalize their commitment to cooperation during the Belt and Road Forum in Beijing over the weekend.

Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) Chairman Dante Jimenez and Executive Director Eduardo Bringas inked the document for joint cooperation with China's National Commission of Supervision (NCS) Vice Chairman Li Shulei.

Prevention of and punishment for corrupt activities, as well as the exchange of relevant knowledge through seminars and trainings,  were among the items of the MOU's agenda.

"This historic cooperation enables the Philippines and China to exchange timely information, knowledge and experience pertaining to criminal activities suspected of corruption, with a view to their prevention, suppression and prosecution," Jimenez said. —Dona Magsino/LBG, GMA News
