Villar, Poe maintain top spots in Senate race


Reelectionist Senators Cynthia Villar and Grace Poe on Wednesday maintained their lead in the May 2019 Senate race based on the partial and unofficial count coming from the Commission on Elections’ (Comelec) transparency server.

As of 5:26 a.m. on Thursday, with 97.28% of the Election Returns processed, Villar was on top of the heap with 24,913,442 votes—over 3 million votes ahead of second-ranked Poe's 21,762,731 votes.

Landing third was Former Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go, followed by Taguig Representative Pia Cayetano, and former Bureau of Corrections chief Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa.

Still in the 12th spot was Senator Nancy Binay with 14,343,281 votes.

The current top 12 Senate bets are as follows:

 


Placing 13th was Senator JV Ejercito with 14,111,589 votes, followed by opposition bet Senator Bam Aquino who garnered 13,991,573 votes, and Jinggoy Estrada with 11,209,160 votes.

The latest transparency server results reflect  46,496,344 votes out of 63,662,481 registered.
