The second day of canvassing lasted for 12 hours.

The canvassed votes were sourced from 89 certificates of canvass across the country and Philippine posts abroad.

A total of 167 certificates of canvass are expected to be sent to the NBOC, of which 130 will be electronically submitted.

Comelec expects to finish the canvassing of votes for senatorial candidates and party-list groups by the end of the week and the proclamation by next week.

The canvassing was briefly delayed when a legal counsel of a party-list group Append asked for access to the data logs in connection with the glitches during the transmission of election results.

Commission on Elections commissioner Rowena Guanzon called out lawyer Romel Bagares saying his motion was out of place.

"This is a canvassing and you should not cite your objection in the stage of canvassing," she said, even threatening to cite Bagares in contempt if he will not take his seat.

The canvassing will resume at 9 a.m. Thursday. —LDF, GMA News
