Guanzon wants Senate bets proclaimed when 100% of COCs have been transmitted

To avoid controversy, Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner Rowena Guanzon on Sunday said she wants all 12 winning Senate bets proclaimed only when 100% of all the certificates of canvass (COCs) have already been transmitted.

“Gusto ko tapusin na lang 'yang 100% transmitted para wala nang maraming tanong. Baka may issues pang lumabas diyan… Ako, gusto ko sabay na lang, dose, para tapos lahat,” Guanzon said in an interview on Super Radyo dzBB.

According to sources, some of the winning senatorial candidates have been invited to formal proclamation ceremonies on Sunday afternoon

However, the Comelec said on Saturday it will not push through with the proclamation of winners on Sunday since at least 13 COCs had yet to be transmitted to the poll body.

Guanzon said they will have a meeting with the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC) to check if the percentage of the election results transmitted is enough to proclaim winning candidates.

“Titignan natin kung maaari na naming i-proclaim 'yan na partial o buo,” said Guanzon.

The NBOC will resume canvassing at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

But for Guanzon, she prefers to have the winning Senate bets proclaimed after all election results have been transmitted.

She also said she wants the 12 winners proclaimed at the same time just like in 2016.

“Mahirap nang magsisi,” Guanzon said. —Joviland Rita/KG, GMA News
