P6.39B released for cops’ mid-year bonus

Over 195,000 cops in service have already received their midyear bonus amounting to a total of P6.39 billion, according to the Philippine National Police on Wednesday.

The midyear bonus, equivalent to one-month basic salary, was released through the payroll accounts of the police officers on Tuesday.

Police officers with pending administrative and criminal cases, however, were not given the said incentive.

PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Bernard Banac said this benefit aims to boost the morale of the state security forces.

The monthly base pay for an entry-level patrolman/patrolwoman is almost P30,000. —Dona Magsino/NB, GMA News
