The local voter turnout during the May 13 elections reached 75.90 percent, Commission on Elections (Comelec) spokesperson James Jimenez said Wednesday.
At a press briefing, Jimenez said this means a total of 46,937,139 voters.
The poll body is still checking the voter turnout for the overseas absentee voting (OAV).
"The local turnout is 75.90 percent. This is for local voters, not including the OAV. We're still checking the turnout for the OAV but it looks low," Jimenez said.
Earlier, Comelec expressed confidence that it would meet its target of 75 percent voter turnout in the 2019 midterm elections. — BM, GMA News
