Alejano would rather ignore ‘Bikoy’ Advincula but filing charges still possible

Magdalo party-list Representative Gary Alejano on Saturday said he would rather ignore Peter Joemel Advincula, who claimed to be "Bikoy" in the "Ang Totoong Narco List" videos, as this will only divert the opposition's attention on other important matters.

While the possible filling of charges against Advincula is still under consideration, Alejano said the opposition does not want to be sucked in "Bikoy's" narrative that he personally met Otso Diretso candidates, except Mar Roxas, and that the Senator Antonio Trillanes IV and the Liberal Party were plotting to discredit and oust President Rodrigo Duterte.

"They can make us busy with 'Bikoy' and forget everything 'di ba? Kung doon tayo sa legal na proseso doon ka na lang itatali," the lawmaker said at a forum in Quezon City on Saturday.

"Kapag dinivert ka na at doon na kayong lahat busy, 'yung importanteng mga issue makakalimutan na. 'Yan ang purpose ng diversion eh to make us defensive, make us work on this 'Bikoy' and we forget everything," he said.

However, Alejano said legal actions against Advincula is still on the opposition's table.

"Parang ayoko na ngang bigyan ng halaga si 'Bikoy' eh. Ang akin lang naman maliwanag na nagsisinungaling siya," he said.

"Pero isang consideration pa rin 'yan na tinitignan natin," he added.

Advincula claimed he was the hooded man in the video series called "Ang Totoong Narco List" where he accused members of the First Family and Senator-elect Bong Go of receiving drug money.

Advincula, however, retracted his statement and pointed to Trillanes and allies of the LP as the masterminds.

He was discharged from the Philippine National Police General Hospital on Saturday and is set to walk free after having posting bail earlier. — MDM, GMA News
