Trillanes on Duterte promises: ‘Hindi pa ba tayo natuto?’

This was the reaction of Senator Antonio Trillanes IV Tuesday on the promise of President Rodrigo, whom he described as a pathological liar, to cut the travel time from Cubao to Makati to five minutes and eliminate flight delays.

Trillanes said the people should have already learned from the campaign promise of Duterte to stop illegal drugs in three to six months.

“Kung budol budol, ilang beses na tayong nabudol-budol, hindi pa rin tayo natuto,” he said at a press conference.

He also cited Duterte’s accusation that he has foreign bank accounts which the outgoing senator said he has already proved false. The President admitted that he intentionally made up a wrong account number to fool Trillanes, who traveled to Singapore to prove no such account exists.

“Inamin na niya, nabisto na siya. Ano ba ‘yun wala pa tayong singilan dito. ‘Yung Presidente nagsisinungaling. Tapos ngayon papangakuan tayo ng five minutes pagtapos nun iibahin na naman ang usapan. Itong si si Juan dela Cruz madadaan na naman sa kuwento. Mumurahin na naman niya ang simbahan at Diyos, distracted na naman tayo,” he said.

Trillanes said Duterte cannot help but spew out lies.

“Si Duterte is a pathological liar, hindi n’ya mapipigilan ang sarili nya, ganun eh. Nasanay siya nung nasa Davao siya napapaikot n’ya mga tao dun,” he said.

He recalled that in 2013, he saw Duterte campaigning in a barangay and told the people to vote for Trillanes.

“Nung 2013 isang kampanya, nakita ko siya nagkakampanya sa isang barangay. Sabi niya itong si Trillanes iboto niyo ito kung hindi a-armalite-in ko kayo, babalikan ko kayo papatayin ko kayo,” he said.

The senator said he thought then that Duterte was sincere but when the sample ballot was released, his name was not on it.

“Ikaw ngayon e parang sinsero naman tapos kinalaunan lumabas ang kanyang sample ballot e 18 ang ineendorso niya, wala ako,” he said.

“So napasakay ka that moment, later on when you found out e ganun. Ngayon ganun ang ginagawa papasakayin muna kayo, after niyang ibahin ang usapan, hindi mo alam ilang beses na kayo pinaikot,” he said. — RSJ, GMA News
