NWRB: Angat Dam water level seen to hit lowest record this week, expected to increase in July

The National Water Resources Board (NWRB) on Monday said they expect an increase in water level at the Angat Dam by July as weather bureau PAGASA projects normal rainfall conditions in the coming days.

"Based on PAGASA, near normal rainfall is projected in Angat watershed. With this condition, we expect the water level to increase by July,” NWRB executive director Sevillo David Jr. told GMA News Online via text message.

However, the 36 cubic meter per second allocation to Metro Manila (cms) will be maintained until end of June 2019, David added.

The NWRB executive director said if the rainfall conditions do not change, a lowest water level record in Angat Dam is expected.

“So if there will be no improvement in the rainfall conditions in Angat in the next couple of days, then we might exceed record low by the end of this week,” David told GMA News Online.

As of Monday morning, the water level in Angat Dam was recorded at 159.09 meters.

The lowest water level recorded in the dam was at 157.57 meters in 2010.
