If Imee Marcos is saying I’m a bad person, that’s hypocrisy —Trillanes

Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Tuesday welcomed the plan of Senator-elect Imee Marcos to conduct an Igorot ritual at his soon-to-be former office before she would occupy it.

Trillanes, however, said he would take exception if Marcos was insinuating that she was trying to rid the room of evil.

“If the religious ritual is meant to help her fulfill her mandate as a newly elected senator, then that's a good thing,” Trillanes said in a press statement.

“But if she's saying it to insinuate na masama akong tao, then sobrang ka ipokritohan naman yun, even for a Marcos,” he added.

Trillanes’ term will end while Marcos’ term will start on June 30.

Marcos hours earlier said she was considering Igorot ritual at her would-be Senate office after learning that it was previously occupied by Trillanes.

“Siguro magpapatawag ako ng mga Igorot namin dahil kailangan basbasan ang office ko dahil kay Senator Trillanes yata ang nabunot,” Marcos said.

She said she would ask Trillanes to join her in dancing with the Igorots.

“‘Yun na lang ang natira so kung papayag si Senator Trillanes, sasabihin ko kay Sonny makikisayaw kami du'n sa mga Igorot namin para mabendisyunan nang todo,” Marcos said.

While Marcos is an ardent ally of President Rodrigo Duterte, Trillanes  is a staunch critic of the Chief Executive.
