LP brands sedition raps vs. Leni et al ‘harassment, persecution’

Liberal Party president Senator Francis Pangilinan on Thursday branded as harassment and persecution the complaints for sedition filed against Vice President Leni Robredo, several lawmakers and members of the opposition in connection with online videos that linked members of the First Family to illegal drugs.

Pangilinan said Robredo was the only official standing in the way of the war on drugs that killed thousands and the government policy regarding China's presence in the West Philippine Sea.

Robredo is the chairperson of the former ruling party.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has filed complaints for sedition against Robredo, senators Leila de Lima and Risa Hontiveros, former senators Bam Aquino and Antonio Trillanes IV, members of the Otso Diretso senatorial slate, and several others.

This is in connection with videos annotated by a certain Bikoy, who linked members of the Duterte family to illegal drugs.

Peter Joemel Advincula, who claims to be the hooded figure Bikoy in the "Ang Totoong Narcolist" videos, was named in the complaint both as a respondent and as a witness.

—NB, GMA News
