Gov’t launches web-based employment platform 911 TESDA

President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday led the launching of a free web-based linking program that aims to connect people in need of services to Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) graduates.

Dubbed “911 TESDA,” the application is initially available in the National Capital Region (NCR), Bulacan, Palayan City in Nueva Ecija, Batangas, Rizal, Cavite, and Laguna but TESDA plans to make this available in other parts of the country.

TESDA graduates and certified workers have to be accredited by the digital online service providers for them to be included in the program.

“This initiative is just one of the innovative solutions that will bring technical vocational education and training (TVET) graduates closer to the local labor market,” Duterte said in his speech during the launching held at TESDA Complex in Taguig City.

“I am confident that this program will significantly contribute to our efforts to provide livelihood opportunities that will enable our people to make a decent living in the process, empower them to contribute to our overall growth as a nation.”

The president said the web-based project is responsive to the growing demand for quality services in households, communities and enterprises “by harnessing the great potential of a digital online service provider.”

“It is my hope that providing efficient, dependable, and reliable means of job application, matching and hiring we will be able to promote ease in doing business and at the same time augment our workers’ income and increase the demand for employment in automotive, electronics, transport, logistics and other vital services,” he added.

He also asked the communist rebels to join the TESDA program. —NB, GMA News
