'PARA DUMIRETSO SA MORGUE'

Bong Go warns inmates pretending to be sick: Imbes na dextrose, iba ang ilalagay

Senator Christopher "Bong" Go on Friday warned inmates at the New Bilibid Prison pretending to be sick so they can be given hospital passes that they may be given an injection that will bring them straight to the morgue.

“Imbes na dextrose, iba na ang ilalagay sa kanila para dumiretso na sa morgue," Go said in an interview on the sidelines of the launching of a Malasakit Center at the Zamboanga del Sur Medical Center in Pagadian City on Friday.

A Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) official recently claimed that inmates who have money can buy hospital passes in the guise of being sick in order to be admitted in the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) hospital.

Go claimed that some high-profile convicts, who pretend to be sick, are using hospital passes to continue their illegal drug trade inside the Bilibid

"We have received reports that some inmates were moved into the New Bilibid Prison Hospital by faking their illness and buying the so-called 'hospital referral pass' from BuCor employees,” he said during the public hearing on the issue.

“Nagpapanggap na may sakit para ma-admit sa ospital tapos doon na nagaganap ang illegal drug trading," Go added.

He asserted that justice must be served in addressing the anomalies in the national penitentiary.

Aside from convicts, even the doctors and other staff of the NBP Hospital who will be found to be involved will be held liable, Go said. —Joviland Rita/KG, GMA News
