Hazed cadet Dormitorio beaten badly, electrocuted in privates, family told

Philippine Military Academy freshman cadet Darwin Dormitorio's internal organs were badly damaged because of the severe beatings he suffered when he was hazed, his brother said on Wednesday.

According to Marisol Abdurahman's report on "24 Oras", a medico legal officer told the Dormitorio family that the victim of fatal hazing was also electrocuted in his privates.

The victim's family gave GMA News a copy of Dormitorio's death certificate. It showed that he died due to blunt traumatic injuries to the abdomen.

"Isipin nyo po 'yung durog po yung organs niya di ba? Yung kidneys, niya pancreas niya yung liver. Tapos may pasa pa siya dito," Dormitorio's brother Darwin said.

Dexter said the beatings and the electrocution were inhuman.

"Kung kayo kinuryente sa bayag, kakayanin niyo?" Dexter said.

Dexter said Dormitorio's ribs had four whip marks.

"Parang maliit na manipis na bakal, rod,  pinanghampas po sa kanya. Siguro nakatagilid siya," Dexter said.

Dormitorio was confirmed to have died due to hazing on Friday, prompting several officials of the Academy to resign.

Dexter said his brother could have been hazed because their father was a retired officer and a graduate of the PMA.

" Tingin ko naging paborito siya dahil aside sa anak siya ng Ram at yung reputation ng tatay ko. [I]nisip nila na uy, mukhang matibay to, tingnan natin kung singtibay siya ng tatay niya," he said.

The family is happy with the way the investigation is going, adding that they are in awe of how the officials who resigned.
