Duterte to ninja cops: Everybody dies in this world but you will go first

President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday stepped up his rhetoric against “ninja cops” or policemen allegedly involved in recycling seized illegal drugs.

Speaking at the corporate launch of real estate developer Golden Topper in Parañaque City, Duterte repeated his warning that he would “kill” people importing or manufacturing illegal drugs in the country.

“You know, we’re trying to make this world a better one. It’s not easy,” he said.

“There are some people, like policemen, you have to beg, then they are at it again, and they sell drugs and they go scot-free and they think that they are the lords of this country. Well, I’m sorry to tell you, everybody dies in this world but you will go ahead first. Remember that.”

He told “evil” people not to “ever think that you are the only one who is evil.”

“For all of us in this world are evil,” he said.

The Senate earlier authorized the Blue Ribbon and Justice committees to make public the information divulged by Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong, former chief of the police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, during an executive session last week on policemen allegedly involved in drug recycling.

National Capital Region (NCR) police chief Major General Guillermo Eleazar on Tuesday linked 16 ninja cops to a drug syndicate allegedly operating in Metro Manila.

Eleazar said that nine of the 16 alleged ninja cops are already dead, while two are retired, two have been dismissed, two have gone AWOL, and one is in jail. —LDF, GMA News
