Dormitorio forced to kiss fellow cadets at PMA, says witness

Aside from putting up with repeated beatings and even electrocution, hazing victim Cadet 4th Class Darwin Dormitorio was also forced by an upperclassman to kiss a fellow cadet.

According to Marisol Abdurahman's report on "State of the Nation with Jessica Soho", the incident was testified to by one of the witnesses who executed an affidavit as regards Dormitorio's ordeal at the Philippine Military Academy.

"Nagalit siya kasi torture talaga. Sabi niya hindi talaga tama," Dormitorio's brother Dexter said when asked about their father's reaction to the sworn eyewitness accounts.

Their father, retired Army Colonel William Dormitorio, is a member of PMA Class of 1974.

According to a witness, one of the cadets implicated in the fatal hazing was inside their room on September 17 when Dormitorio came in while moving rather slowly.

Dormitorio was reportedly already feeling pain at that time.

Cadet 3rd Class Julius Carlos Tadena, the witness said, started to electrocute Dormitorio with a taser because he was moving slowly.

Dormitorio even shouted because of the pain, according to the witness' affidavit.

Tadena only stopped electrocuting Dormitorio when he told the plebe to kiss a fellow cadet.

"Cadet Tadena closed the door and ordered [another cadet] and Cadet Dormitorio to kiss each other while saying 'l—n mo!' and at the same time he was laughing," the affidavit read.

According to the statement of two witnesses, Cadet Rey David John Volante also hurt Dormitorio that night.

Volante "slightly" kicked Dormitorio to call his attention, and even kicked him on the forehead, causing Dormitorio to fall to the ground.

"I observed that he struggled and endured his pain just to be on his bunk. Cadet Dormitorio still could not sleep and vomited two more times.

On the midnight of September 18, a witness saw Dormitorio sitting on a chair while holding his stomach. When the witness came back, he found Dormitorio lying on the floor.

They then sent Dormitorio the PMA hospital where he was declared dead past 5 a.m.

According to the witness, Tadena had also electrocuted him on his lower body, legs, and buttocks. —Joahna Lei Casilao and Dona Magsino/RSJ/NB, GMA News
