President Duterte back on motorcycle days after accident

President Rodrigo Duterte is riding a motorcycle again, a few days after he figured in an accident inside the Malacañang Complex, according to a report Unang Balita.

In a Facebook post by Senator Christopher "Bong" Go, former special assistant to the President, they can be seen on a motorcycle alongside each other.

The caption reads: Ready na kami ni Tatay Digong!!! Sama kayo? Ready Set Go!!! - Kuya Bong Go.

"After the dinner last night, when he went to Bahay Pagbabago he decided to ride the motorcycle for few minutes. Parang exercise,” presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo told reporters on Friday.

"If you notice that’s a three-wheel motorcycle. Walang kaproble-problema. Hindi sesemplang ‘yun. Sinubukan niya lang."

Asked if Duterte had consulted his doctor before riding a motorcycle, Panelo said: “Siguro naitanong na niya 'yun. otherwise hindi niya gagawin."

Sought for details, Go said the President rode the motorcycle only for a short time. "Sandali lang kagabi, 10pm," Go said in a text message to GMA News Online.

Duterte had scrapes and bruises in a motorcycle accident inside the Presidential Security Group compound within the Malacañang Complex on October 16.

He had to cut short his trip to Japan on Tuesday, where he attended the enthronement ceremony of Emperor Naruhito, because of severe back pain which his doctor said was a case of muscular spasm.

Go earlier said that the President will take a one week break when he returns to the country after the ASEAN Summit in Bangkok, Thailand. — with Virgil Lopez and Amita Legaspi/BAP/KBK, GMA News
