Palace: Duterte to validate corruption claims vs. 2 Cabinet members

President Rodrigo Duterte will hold another investigation on the corruption allegations against two Cabinet members, Malacañang said on Thursday.

“Papaimbestigahan ni Presidente, papa-validate niya,” presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo told reporters.

Panelo gave the reaction after Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission Commissioner Greco Belgica said their report and recommendation on the matter have already been forwarded to the Office of the President.

However, Belgica declined to confirm reports that their investigation found the two Cabinet members liable for corruption.

“I’m bound by the rules. I can’t discuss the case kung ano ang kaso at findings namin. It has to go through due process,” the PACC official said in a text message.

Belgica had said their investigation stemmed from complaints filed against the concerned Cabinet officials early this year. — MDM, GMA News
