Vice President Leni Robredo assured the public on Monday that no sensitive information on the anti-drug campaign will be disclosed.

“‘Yung assurance naman lahat ng sensitive information hindi idi-disclose,” Robredo told reporters when asked about President Rodrigo Duterte’s warning that she will be fired as co-chair of the Inter-agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD) if she reveals classified matters.

The Vice President was at the Senate for the plenary deliberations on the proposed P664-million budget of the Office of the Vice President for 2020.

The budget was approved in less a minute: no senator raised any question.

Duterte, in an exclusive interview with GMA News’ Marisol Abdurahman on Balitanghali Weekend, said there are matters that should be kept within the government

“Classified matters cannot be shared. Once [she does] that, she’s out, I would fire her. Because you jeopardized the security of the state,” he said.

Robredo has requested the Philippine National Police (PNP) to give her access to the list on high-value targets in the anti-drug campaign.

In response PNP officer-in-charge Lt. Gen. Archie Francisco Gamboa noted that the PNP adhere to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency’s (PDEA) decision regarding the Vice President’s request.

“Remember, the PDEA is the head of the law enforcement cluster ... Whatever the head says, I will always respect it being a member of the law enforcement ... So yes, I adhere to what the director general says,” Gamboa told reporters in Camp Crame on Monday. —VDS, GMA News
