Rizal Memorial Sports Complex under renovation hours before SEA Games event

The renovation of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex was still ongoing in the last hours before the conduct of an event in the  Southeast Asian Games on Monday, Jonathan Andal reported on  GMA News’ Unang Balita.

A men's football game between Myanmar and Malaysia is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in the complex. Due to this, the management advised its workers to finish the renovation and remove all scaffolding at 10 a.m.

By 7 a.m., the workers had painted half of the walls.

The match between the Myanmar and Malaysia teams at 4 p.m. will be followed by a match between the Philippines and Cambodia at 8 p.m.

In a post on its official Instagram account, the Thai national football team said that due to the stadium's still being under renovation, they had to change in their cars and pay to train at another venue.

Adriatico Street near the stadium was closed to motorists.

Motorists were advised to drive straight to Roxas Boulevard or Mabini Street. For those who will be coming from Taft Avenue, they were advised not to enter Adriatico and use the Buendia Avenue instead. — Joviland Rita/BM, GMA News
