Duterte safe, went back to sleep after 6.9 quake —Malacañang, PSG
Malacañang on Sunday confirmed that President Rodrigo Duterte was safe after a Magnitude 6.9 earthquake hit Davao del Sur in the afternoon
Intensity V was felt in Davao City due to the temblor.
“President Duterte was in his house in Davao City with his daughter Kitty when the earthquake struck,” the Palace said.
Presidential Security Group (PSG) Commander Brigadier General Jose Niembra said that Duterte went back to sleep after the quake.
"Ok lang wala naman damage [sa] house pero pa check pa rin [ang] structural integrity. PRRD ok lang natulog uli after the quake," he said.
The Palace statement added that Duterte's partner Honeylet Avanceña was on her way home when the quake hit. "She said the car she was riding was swaying. They are unhurt," it added.

Malacañang requested everyone to remain calm but vigilant in possible aftershocks.
“We likewise ask the public to refrain from spreading disinformation that may cause undue alarm and panic among affected communities,” it added. — LA/BM, GMA News
