NCRPO collects P3M for Taal eruption victims

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has collected a total of P3 million which will be donated to the victims of the Taal Volcano eruption.

According to NCRPO chief Police Brigadier General Debold Sinas, the total amount was obtained from the combat duty pay which was voluntarily given by Metro Manila cops.

"Majority of our people nagbigay, majority ng officers namin nagbigay... Ang total amount collected was P3 million," Sinas said during a press briefing.

"You can see ito voluntary po ito. Masabi namin ang mga members ng NCRPO, very willing to help our kababayan sa Batangas," he added.

Sinas said the amount would be turned over first to the national headquarters of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Sinas had said each NCRPO personnel was encouraged to donate an amount "equivalent to one day of their combat pay and combat incentive pay," which, according to him, is at least P100.

The collection was in support of the call of PNP chief Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa for each policeman to donate at least P10 for the affected residents of Taal Volcano eruption.

Aside from the donation, the NCRPO is also conducting medical mission and distributing relief goods to the victims of the volcanic eruption. — MDM, GMA News
