In Chinese New Year message, Duterte wishes strong China-Philippines ties

President Rodrigo Duterte on Saturday extended his warmest greetings and best wishes for the Chinese people, and those with Chinese descent all over the world on the occasion of the Chinese New Year.

In a statement,  Duterte also said that the fact that Filipinos have embraced the Chinese New Year celebration as their own demonstrates the two countries strong and inseparable bond of friendship and beneficial relations.

Likewise, Duterte expressed hope that as Filipinos and the Chinese people open a new page of "shared history," the bonds of friendship will grow strong through cooperation, investments, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people ties.
