Thai Navy pays courtesy call on new Philippine Navy chief


The Royal Thai Navy on Wednesday visited the Philippine Navy with the aim to boost the defense cooperation between the two countries.

Vice Admiral Chanint Phadungkiat, director of Maritime Enforcement Operations Command Center (Thai-MECC), and his contingent paid a courtesy call on Flag Officer in Command Rear Admiral Giovanni Carlo Bacordo at the Navy's headquarters.

Bacordo formally assumed his post as the new Flag Officer In Command of the Philippine Navy on Monday, succeeding now-retired Vice Admiral Robert Empedrad.

During the meeting, enhancing the defense cooperation for both navies were discussed by the officials.
