73% of PUIs in Philippines already discharged, says DOH


Only around a quarter of the 527 persons under investigation (PUIs) for suspected coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the Philippines are still admitted in hospitals, according to data from the Department of Health (DOH).

As of 12 p.m. on Tuesday, 387 PUIs or 73% have already been discharged from medical facilities.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Philippines remains at three. Two have recovered and one has died.

To date, Metro Manila hosts most of the 137 PUIs who are still being observed in health facilities.

Meanwhile, all suspected cases in Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao have been discharged.

Only six new PUIs were reported in the country on Tuesday, according to the DOH. — BM, GMA News
