41 new cases of suspected COVID-19 brings Philippines’ number of PUIs to 597

There are 41 new suspected cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the Philippines as of Friday morning, according to the Department of Health (DOH).

This brings to 597 the cumulative total of all persons under investigation (PUIs) in the country, based on the data released by the DOH at 10 a.m.

Despite the additions to the list, 455 or about 76% of the PUIs were already discharged from hospitals.

Only 139 are being attended to at medical facilities across the country. Most of them are in Metro Manila as only 33 are confined in other regions.

The three previously confirmed cases of COVID-19—all Chinese nationals—were no longer receiving hospital care. Two of them recovered and one died.

To date, there are still no reported local transmission of COVID-19 in the Philippines but the DOH assured that measures are in place should such an event arise. —NB, GMA News
