Object thrown at PNR train scars window, startles passengers

An object thrown at a Philippine National Railways (PNR) train as it crossed Muntinlupa City startled passengers and left a mark on the train's fiberglass window,  John Consulta reported Saturday on 24 Oras Weekend.

PNR said such incidents were becoming frequent.

"Tingin namin, tinitirador eh kasi 'yung pinaka-ano ng butas niya, tumatagos talaga," said PNR officer-in-charge Jocelyn Geronimo.

Last February 16, a passenger suffered a small cut after the train's glass window shattered after a similar incident.

December of last year, another thrown object shattered a train door's glass window.

Due to such attacks, the PNR has been unable to deploy its six new coaches from Indonesia.

She also called on vandals to stop damaging their trains.

— Joahna Lei Casilao/DVM, GMA News
