DOH: Suspected cases of COVID-19 in Philippine hospitals down to less than 100

Most of the suspected cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the Philippines have already been discharged from hospitals, according to the Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday.

Out of the cumulative total of 610 persons under investigation (PUIs), only 16% or 98 are still admitted at medical facilities, based on the data released by the DOH as of 9:30 a.m.

Metro Manila remains to have the highest number of confined PUIs at 85. The rest are being accommodated in Calabarzon, Central Visayas, Central Luzon, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Northern Mindanao, and Soccsksargen.

Meanwhile, the number of discharged PUIs is at 509.

The three confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines were no longer receiving hospital care as two of them recovered and the other died.

Only one new suspected case of COVID-19 was reported on Tuesday, the DOH data showed.

Abroad, there are Filipinos who have tested positive for the virus. Eighty are in Japan, two are in the United Arab Emirates, one is in Hong Kong, and one is in Singapore. — RSJ, GMA News
