Malacañang vows probe into Nueva Ecija lawyer's killing

Malacañang on Sunday promised that the killing of a 73-year-old lawyer in Nueva Ecija last Friday would be investigated.

"We will not tolerate acts of violence against any person. And for that matter, lahat ng nandito sa ating bansa, whether yan ay kababayan natin o hindi, hindi pwede kay Presidente [Rodrigo Duterte] yun," Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said in a radio interview.

"Kaya yung nangyari pagpaslang sa abogado, automatically papaimbestigahan yun. And we will not stop until we pinpoint the perpetrators ng crime na yun."

Lawyer Bayani Dalangin was shot to death by an unidentified gunman on Friday night while he was meeting with a client. 

The gunman then hurriedly fled and headed south on a motorcycle.

Dalangin was rushed to the Talavera General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. — Erwin Colcol/DVM, GMA News
