UP enters Top 100 universities for performing arts -QS rankings

The University of the Philippines (UP) has made it to the world's top 100 universities for the performing arts for the first time, according to the UK-based Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) world rankings.

The state university's performing arts program was included in the 51-100 bracket.

On its second consecutive year, UP also maintained its ranking as one of the top 100 universities for development studies.

The rankings were based on the school's academic and employer reputations, as well as citations of published papers.

This year, UP's overall world ranking is at 356, which was 28 places higher than its rank in 2019.

The top school for performing arts is The Juilliard School in the US. Meanwhile, the top school for development studies is the University of Sussex in the UK. — Angelica Y. Yang/BM, GMA News
