COVID-19 THREAT

DOLE to implement four-day workweek in its offices, bureaus

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will implement a four-day workweek starting next week as a precaution against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) threat.

According to Isa Avendaño-Umali's report on Dobol B sa News TV on Thursday, starting March 16, work schedule for all employees of DOLE as well as its attached agencies will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m, from Monday to Thursday.

The new schedule was formalized through Administrative Order 99 signed by Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III.

It covers DOLE's central office in Intramuros, Manila, as well as its regional offices, bureaus and field offices.

The AO also covers all of DOLE's attached agencies, among them the Philippine Overseas Welfare Administration (POEA), the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), and the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC). —KBK, GMA News
