13-year-old Pinay among latest confirmed COVID-19 cases in Philippines


A 13-year-old Filipino girl is among the cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) recorded in the Philippines as of Sunday noon.

Data from the Department of Health (DOH) show that Patient 135, a Quezon City resident who is the youngest confirmed case so far, had no history of travel or exposure to known COVID-19 cases.

She began manifesting symptoms of the disease on March 4 and was confirmed to have COVID-19 on Sunday.

She had sought consultation with the Quezon City Health Department.

The DOH is still validating where she is confined.

The girl is among the 29 new COVID-19 cases confirmed by the DOH on Sunday, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 140. —Julia Mari Ornedo/JST, GMA News
