Sonny Angara says he’s recovering from COVID-19

Senator Sonny Angara said he is feeling better and getting well from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

“Recovering thanks to your prayers and some good medical attention,” the 47-year-old lawmaker captioned his Instagram post on Monday night.

His unshaved mustache and beard were noticeable.

Angara's supporters and friends also wished for his speedy recovery at the comment section.

He is the third senator found to have been infected with COVID-19, the others being Senators Aquilino Pimentel III and Juan Miguel Zubiri. Angara received his test results last March 26 or ten days after taking the test.

The senator's wife Tootsy recently shared the hard realities their family is going through after the patriarch fell ill.

She thanked those who helped their household secure basic necessities like drinking water.

“Some sent us fruits, vegetables, medical supplies, cleaning aids, vitamins for our household,” she added.

Tootsy said she and the kids are trying their best to be physically and spiritually healthy amid the health emergency.

The Philippines has recorded 1,546 cases of COVID-19 as of Tuesday, with 78 deaths and 42 recoveries. — Dona Magsino/RSJ, GMA News
