4 of 7 new patients to recover from COVID-19 are seniors —DOH


The majority of seven new patients who recently recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) are seniors, according to data released by the Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday.

The latest recoveries, all Filipinos, bring the total number of COVID-19 patients who have been discharged from hospitals to 49.

Under DOH protocols, patients must only show mild or no symptoms and have at least one negative COVID-19 test result in order to be discharged.

Patient 577, a 64-year-old male from Rizal with no travel history, was discharged on March 29. He began developing COVID-19 symptoms on March 5

Patient 271 is a 60-year-old male Quezon City resident with no travel history who was discharged on Monday after two negative test results. His onset of COVID-19 symptoms was on March 11.

Patient 197, a 77-year-old male from Rizal with no travel history, was discharged on March 28, 20 days after he began manifesting COVID-19 symptoms.

Patient 258 is a 68-year-old Filipino-American male from Mandaluyong City with a history of travel to Dubai, Jordan, Israel, and Egypt. He began showing COVID-19 symptoms on March 14 and was discharged on March 29.

Patient 58, a 45-year old female from Makati City, has no travel history but was exposed to a known COVID-19 case. She was discharged on March 29.

Patient 185 is a 48-year-old male from Pasig City who was discharged on March 28, 20 days after he began manifesting COVID-19 symptoms. -NB, GMA News

Patient 96 is a 39-year-old male from Abra with a history of travel to the United Arab Emirates and Thailand. He began experiencing COVID-19 symptoms on March 9 and was discharged on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the country's death toll due to COVID-19 also climbed to 88 after ten new deaths were reported.

The total number of cases nationwide breached 2,000 in under a month.
