Koko Pimentel refrains from commenting on claims he was rushed to hospital

Senator Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel on Wednesday refrained from confirming or denying that he was rushed to the hospital earlier this week as he continues to battle with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

He told reporters he has "no comment" on the matter.

A report on Tuesday claimed the senator has been brought to a hospital for "not feeling good."

PDP-Laban national director Ron Munsayac also said Pimentel is already doing better.

"Sen. Koko is quickly on his way to recovery, I'm very optimistic that he'll beat the virus very soon. In fact, he's been in communication with a lot of people already," Munsayac said a message to reporters.

Pimentel was in hot water last week after he "recklessly" breached hospital protocols when he accompanied his pregnant wife to a medical facility in Makati despite his pending test result for COVID-19. He said he immediately left the hospital upon receiving the information that he is positive for the virus.

The lawmaker has since apologized for the incident and said that he will answer all possible legal complaints in due time.—AOL, GMA News
