Payments for commercial rents now covered by 30-day grace period -IATF

Payments for commercial rents are now covered by the 30-day grace period amid the enhanced community quarantine implemented in Luzon, a Malacañang official said Thursday.

Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles said the decision of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) will benefit micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

No interests, penalties, fees, and other charges will be imposed as a result of the latest directive whose guidelines will be released by the Department of Trade and Industry, he said.

The government has already set a 30-day moratorium on payments of residential rents and all loans, including credit card payments and pawnshop loans.

The Luzon-wide quarantine started on March 17 and will end on April 13.—AOL, GMA News
