‘Quarantine your mouth,’ Bong Go tells unhelpful officials

Senator Christopher “Bong” Go on Thursday advised officials who cannot pitch in help in the fight against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) to just "quarantine [their] mouths."

"Maging parte sana tayong lahat ng solusyon at hindi dumagdag sa problema. Kaya sa mga opisyal diyan na hindi naman nakakatulong, just quarantine your mouth o umalis ka na lang," Go said in a statement.

The senator aired the comment amid the controversy involving Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) Commissioner Manuelito Luna and Vice President Leni Robredo.

Luna earlier said he wanted Robredo to be investigated by the National Bureau of Investigation for allegedly competing with the government’s relief efforts amid the COVID-19 crisis.

"Kami ni Pangulong Duterte at ang kanyang administrasyon ay patuloy na nananawagan sa lahat ng mga Pilipino na magtulungan at magbayanihan para malampasan natin ang krisis na ito," Go said.

"Welcome dapat lahat ng mga gustong tumulong. Welcome rin ang mga bumabatikos na magbigay ng kanilang rekomendasyon," he added.

PACC commissioner Greco Belgica later clarified that Luna's call was a personal opinion and did not reflect the stand of the agency.
