Number of COVID-infected PNP personnel now at 19 — spox Banac


The number of confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in the Philippine National Police rose to 19, according to spokesman Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac on Monday.

In a statement, Banac said that of the total number, two have recovered from the disease while two others died already.

The latest confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the PNP were a 31-year-old female officer from Laguna, a 41-year-old male officer from Cavite, and a 45-year-old female officer from Batangas.

Banac also said the PNP Health Service has recorded a total of 280 personnel considered as persons under investigation (PUIs) while 1,332 others were listed as persons under monitoring (PUMs) as of April 6.

According to Banac, the Kiangan Billeting Center inside Camp Crame has already admitted 39 personnel listed as PUIs who need to undergo the mandatory self-quarantine. — Anna Felicia Bajo/RSJ, GMA News
